Earlier this year, we had the privilege of working with The Predictive Index on category design. It’s an awesome example of how an older company can reinvent itself and establish a new market category – in this case, the category “talent optimization.”
The Predictive Index is sixty years old, with new owners who bought the company five years ago. In order to implement their category and support other growth demands, the company has just raised $50 million from General Catalyst. It is proof that category creation doesn’t just belong to hot young startups – we’ve now worked with multiple ten-year-old companies, public companies and now a sixty-year-old company. It’s never too late to capture your category.
